Culture & Community

Throughout 2025, PJM supported and promoted a variety of activities that fostered a sense of purpose and community to all employees.

PJM provides employees with opportunities to be seen for their unique contributions, connected to and supported by their coworkers, and proud of their role in fulfilling the important mission for the 67 million people in the PJM region.

PJM in the Community

When it comes to community outreach, the numbers tell an inspiring story – but the most powerful impact can’t be measured.

PJM employees dedicate hundreds of hours each year to serving others through volunteerism, mentorship and advocacy. The 2025 statistics that follow reflect the reach of that voluntary commitment, while the photographs reveal the heart and humanity of the work.

One inspiring example is the support PJM provided to the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC) through two on-site volunteer activities.

PJM employees assembled:

1,500 snack bags

distributed to children experiencing food insecurity in the local community.

500 toiletry bags

given to local middle and high school students to make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

In addition to contributing their time and talents in the community, PJM employees participated in two collection drives:

Baby supplies benefitting Mary’s Shelter

Food and household items for ACLAMO

In addition to the companywide philanthropic efforts, many departments, divisions and groups organized their own volunteer activities to support our local communities.

Environmental Stewardship

Our commitment to environmental stewardship shows in the everyday choices we make – especially how we manage waste. Our staff participated in an annual Earth Day recycling event by bringing their personal items, including electronics and alkaline and lithium batteries, to campus to be recycled. Nonrecyclable waste is handled through a waste-to-energy process that helps recover value while reducing environmental impact. Together, these common-sense efforts reflect our focus on using resources wisely, minimizing waste and doing our part to support a more sustainable future.

Earth Day Recycling Event – Environmental Numbers:

Waste to energy

69.15 tons

Campus waste disposal through waste-to-energy process

Recycling
